JOB OPPORTUNITY: 2026 SENIOR ELECTION OFFICIAL

The RM of Rosedale is seeking a highly organized, professional, and impartial individual for the position of Senior Election Official (SEO). The SEO serves as the primary authority for the management and conduct of the local election process reporting directly to the RM of Rosedale CAO.

Training: Training sessions on municipal elections will be provided; applicants must be willing and able to attend one of these sessions: 1 pm – 4 pm on 3/25 in Brandon or 3/26 in Dauphin; or virtual training 4/15 via Teams at 9 am – 12 pm.

Remuneration: Hourly remuneration to be negotiated and mileage expense.  Reimbursement will be provided for mileage, office supplies, phone calls and other expenses for training sessions and election days.

Start Date: Immediate upon successful hiring.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall Municipal election process, ensuring all aspects of legislation are interpreted correctly and consistently;
Hire, appoint, and train all required voting officials;
Establish and maintain an accurate voters list, including conducting an enumeration if required;
Coordinate public notices, ballot printing, and the establishment and equipping of voting stations.
Qualifications/ Requirements

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (specifically Word and Excel) for list management and reporting. Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle for travel.

Previous election experience would be an asset.

Must be able to perform all duties with absolute fairness, neutrality, and impartiality.
